Experience the beauty and wonder of the Arboretum’s 1,700 acres on a guided tram tour aboard the Acorn Express. Narrated by naturalists with a deep knowledge of the trails and ecology of The Morton Arboretum, these one-hour rides take you on an adventure through woodlands, wetlands, and prairies.
Tram Tour Details
Tram tours are offered daily through November 17, weather permitting. The Arboretum values the safety of its guests and reserves the right to cancel tram tours in the event of inclement weather.
Tram tours are wheelchair accessible.
Tram tickets are per-person and do not include admission to the Arboretum.
Purchasing Tickets
Tram tickets must be purchased at the Information Desk in the Visitor Center on the day of your visit. Reservations will not be accepted in advance. Tickets cannot be purchased over the phone, online, or for another day.
Arriving early on the day you plan to take a tour is encouraged; tours can sell out in advance of departure times, especially on weekends.
Ticket fees only apply to the standard tram tours and not the Arboretum’s special topic tours, which have their own processes and pricing.
Coupons or vouchers must be exchanged for a timed ticket at the Information Desk in the Visitor Center before boarding the tram.
